ROCHESTER, N.Y. — February 24, 2015 —This month, Silk Bridal Boutique celebrates its launch with a Grand-Opening Event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26. The boutique, located at 1900 Clinton Ave. South in the Tops Brighton Plaza, will also have a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 10:30 a.m.

The evening celebration, which is free and open to the public, features bridal vendors, including Scott Miller Beauty Bar, Simply Beautiful Events, Arena’s Florist, Scratch Bakery, Tasteful Connections Catering and Mann’s Jewelers, among others. Guests can enter a drawing for a chance to win a $250 gift certificate to Silk.

Silk, which opened in late November 2014, carries luxurious gowns from designers, including Casa Blanca Bridal, CB Couture and Enzoani, among others. Family owned and operated, Silk is connected to two other Thimble family businesses—Paislee Boutique and Thimble Tailor. Owned by Fatima Bayram Sable, the boutique benefits from her family’s more than four decades of experience in the fashion industry.

Bayram Sable, who holds fashion degrees from Genesee Community College and Buffalo State University, hand selects every gown in the boutique, and says she keeps several aspects in mind. “I’m looking for well-made, higher-quality fabrics, the finest silks,” she said. “And when I choose gowns, I keep the female silhouette in mind. I always ask, ‘How will the gown complement a woman’s figure?”’

Bayram Sable says this personalized approach is woven into every part of the gown shopping experience. While in the boutique, brides work with two consultants who help select gowns that fit the vision of their wedding day. The boutique also showcases a selection of belts and hair accessories, allowing brides to create a customized look. For an additional fee, gowns can be hand-tailored by Bayram Sable, who honed her craft through apprenticeships.
